Reopirin in the treatment of osteochondrosis - a review of the drug

Reopirin belongs to the drugs, without which the treatment of the acute stage of osteochondrosis is not complete. It is designed for short-term use for the relief of acute pain, inflammation and spasm.

Pharmacological action of the drug

Reopirin refers to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, list B. This is a combined drug, the action of which is aimed at pain relief, elimination of inflammation. Reopirin also has antipyretic properties.

The pharmacological action of the drug is aimed at reducing perception in pain centers, inhibiting the transmission of pain impulses and neuronal excitability in the center of thermoregulation.

The drug gives good tolerability if it is administered three times at a dosage of 5 ml. Its high level of anti-inflammatory, antipyretic and analgesic effects makes it possible to apply to practicing physicians of various profiles (therapists, neuropathologists, gynecologists).

Composition and form of release

The medicinal substance is available in liquid form (injectable solution) and solid form (pellets).

The drug Reopirin consists of two active active ingredients - aminophenazone and sodium phenylbutazone.

One dragee contains 125 mg of a combination of active ingredients.

Indications for use

The course of treatment with the drug Reopirin prescribed for acute inflammation:

  • osteochondrosis in the acute stage;
  • non-infectious arthritis;
  • inflammatory pathologies of the joints and extra-articular tissues;
  • polyneuritis;
  • neuralgia;
  • adnexitis, parametritis;
  • pericarditis;
  • lumbago.

Contraindications

The drug Reopirin is not prescribed for the treatment of patients with cardiac arrhythmias, cardiopathies, with congenital and acquired heart defects, organic disorders in the liver and kidneys, severe neurological disorders, diseases of the hematopoietic system.

The drug is not prescribed to children under the age of seven, as well as to pregnant and lactating women.

Dosage and overdose

For the treatment of rheumatic diseases, the drug is taken in tablets with a dosage of 4 to 6 tablets daily.

To stop acute inflammatory processes and pain syndrome, Reopirin is administered intramuscularly in one ampoule daily or every other day.

In the treatment of gynecological disorders, Reopirin in injection form is prescribed according to the scheme: one intramuscular injection of the drug with 5 ml of Reopirin with an interval of 4 days.

In pediatric practice, older children and adolescents are prescribed Reopirin 1 / 2-1 tablets three times a day, in injections of 0.5-1.0 ml of the drug intramuscularly daily or every other day.

Numerous clinical trials that were conducted with Reopiran proved that three times the average daily dose of 5 ml of the drug substance has a high degree of safety.

  1. bouts of vomiting;
  2. psychomotor agitation (motor restlessness, speech arousal, mood changes);
  3. convulsions.

In the event that a severe overdose of Reopiran was allowed, acute renal or hepatic insufficiency, cardiovascular insufficiency may develop.

Reopirin in the treatment of osteochondrosis

The drug is used in the complex treatment of an acute, pronounced stage of osteochondrosis.

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory analgesic drug is prescribed in injectable form.

Treatment is supplemented with novocaine blockades, injections.

With intramuscular administration of Reopirin, the risk of developing a post-injection abscess is extremely high.

Therefore, injections should be carried out by an experienced specialist under aseptic conditions, strictly in the upper-outer quadrant of the gluteal muscle with the patient in a horizontal position, and using a long needle.

Reopirin in the form of a dragee is prescribed as a maintenance treatment after the acute stage of the disease has been stopped.

Assign 1 tablet of Reopirin 3 or 4 times a day.
